Tales From A Broad

My year of teaching English in Japan is up. Next mission: backpack Asia before going home to the U.S.A. Currently HOME!

Hooray for Japan

Professional figure skater, Shizuka Arakawa, won Japan its first gold medal at the Torino Winter Olympics. I love to see the under dog win and its especially warm and fuzzy to see everyon's reactions firsthand. It's the best thing to happen to Japan since heat-up toilets seats and the Japanese dude that won the Nathan's hot dog eating contest.

It's all very nice for Japan that this skater finally brought them a medal, but the amount of TV time she was getting before, and especially after the event was a bit excessive...Every time I turned on the TV for the week afterwards they were replaying her program! In all the interviews she was giving she always looked a bit scared of all the attention...
Anyway, good for her for making her country so proud!

I'm sorry, Christine, but I'm going to have to disagree with you. NOTHING is better than Japanese heated toilets. I'm convinced that it's the next best invention after the wheel. God bless the heated toilets.

I just love the fact Australia gets bugger all snow and we got more medals than England and Japan that get a shitload. :)
